X? s? Ronglong h?m nayElectrophysiological study (EP study) is a test used to evaluate your heart’s electrical system and to check for abnormal heart rhythms. During an EP study, your doctor inserts small, thin wire electrodes into a vein in the groin (or neck, in some cases). He or she will then thread the wire electrodes through the vein and into the heart. To do this, he or she uses a special type of Live X-ray called fluoroscopy. Once in the heart, the electrodes measure the heart’s electrical signals. Electrical signals are also sent through the electrodes to stimulate the heart tissue to try to cause the abnormal heart rhythm. This is done so that it can be evaluated and its cause can be found.

The cardiologist may advise electrophysiology study for following reasons:
To evaluate symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, weakness, palpitation or others to see if they might be caused by a rhythm problem. This may be done when other tests have not been clear and your doctor strongly suspects you have a heart rhythm problem.

To see how well medicine(s) given to treat a rhythm problem are working.
In some cases, the sheath or introducer may be left in the insertion site. If so, you will be on bed rest until the sheath is removed.

He has done several thousand of these procedures on one of the most advanced Cath Lab from Siemens. Dr. Mehrotra has been instrumental in saving many lives due to timely and effective intervention. The Preventive Cardiology Department at Siddh Hospital carries out Routine Heart Checkup for patients so that the Cardiac Disease can be diagnosed early and timely treatment can be done so save precious lives. Early treatment of Heart Disease not only saves life but also costs much lesser money than treating an advanced Coronary Disease.
EP Study costs Rs. 20,000 at Siddh Hospital, Moradabad and if a pacemaker is to be installed after the EP Studies then the cost would be in the range of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,25,000 depending whether a temporary or a permanent pacemaker is to be installed.
